African Landscapes 1 - Tsavo East National Park, Kenya: Tsavo East National Park is one of the world's largest game reserves, providing undeveloped wilderness homes to vast numbers of animals and over 500 species of bird have been recorded there.
African Landscapes 2 - Sphinx, Giza: The Sun rises over the Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya. The Masai Mara National Reserve covers some 1530km in south-western Kenya. It is the northern-most section of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, covering some 25,000km. It is bounded by the Serengeti Park to the south, the Siria escarpment to the west and Maasai pastoral ranches to the north, east and west.
African Landscapes 3 - Tsavo East National Park, Kenya: Tsavo East National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya at 11,747 square kilometers. Opened in April 1948, it is located near the village of Voi. The park is named after the river which flows through the park and separates Tsavo East from Tsavo West.

African Landscapes 4 - Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania: The volcano is the highest in Africa and covers an area of 388,500 ha (960,004 acres). It has three main concentric cones to the southeast in the mountain, but also has smaller parasitic cones. Also known as a satellite cone, the main vent is blocked by cooled solidified lava, and the lava is then forced out through the sides of a volcano under immense pressure. To the west side of the mountain is the peak Shira (3,962 m or 12,999 ft), of which only the southern and western rims remain.
African Landscapes 5 - Kruger National Park, South Africa: Kruger National Park is one of the largest game parks in Africa. It covers almost 19,000 square kilometers and extends 360 kilometers from north to south and 65 kilometers from east to west.
African Landscapes 6 - Gods Window, South Africa: God's Window is a popular viewpoint located on the lip of the escarpment along the Blyde River Canyon, in South Africa. The Canyon is the third largest in the world and drops 800 meters down to the Lowveld plains

Kenya's East Coast
African Landscapes 7 - Sunset, Tanzania, Africa: Tanzania is one of the oldest known continuously inhabited areas on Earth; fossil remains of humans and pre-human hominids from the Olduvai Gorge have been found dating back over two million years.
African Landscapes 8 - Tsavo East National Park, Kenya: The vegetation around Tsavo East National Park is savannah grassland with thorny bushes and some swampy marshland near the Voi River. He a lone acacia stands out from the grassland as sunset approaches.
African Landscapes 9 - Kenya's East Coast: Most visitors to Kenya look forward to bathing in the warm calm waters of the Indian Ocean. An offshore storm creates a different scene as waves crash against cliffs on the Kenyan coast sending plumes of water high into the air.
Lake Flies Swarm over Lake Victoria, Tanzania

African Landscapes 10 - The moon, viewed from Kruger National Park, South Africa: The absence of man made light pollution in the middle of Africa's national parks allows for amazing views of the night sky. Here an Earth based picture of the moon could almost have been taken by an orbiting satellite!
African Landscapes 11 - Lake Flies Swarm over Lake Victoria, Tanzania: Lake Victoria brews two kinds of storm clouds: the inanimate ones that form high above the water and shed rain, and the astounding living ones--dark clouds as thick as a hundred feet that roll across both water and surrounding terrain--made up mostly of midges. Mosquitoes are only a minority presence in those teeming swarms of "lake flies".
African Landscapes 12 - Sun rise in Tsavo East National Park, Kenya: African sunrises are exceptional where ever you are. The closer proximity of the earth to the sun closer to the equator seems to enhance the vividness and strength of the colours making an unforgettable experience.

Crater Lake, Uganda
African Landscapes 13 - Isalo National Park Madagascar: Isalo National park is is located in the Toliara Province of Madagascar in the southern half of the island. It is renowned for its wide variety of habitat, including sandstone formations, canyons, palm-lines oasis and grassland.
African Landscapes 14 - Bwindi National Park, Uganda: Following a tropical rain shower ribbons of mist rise from the trees, cloaking the upper canopy of the rainforest in shifting layers of white. The last few claps of thunder subside, leaving the forest silent except for the rhythmic chirping of insects and the gentle rush of a stream
African Landscapes 15 - Crater Lake, Uganda: A typical crater lake, such as this one in the Kibale region in Uganda is a lake that forms in a volcanic crater. Lakes located in dormant or extinct volcanoes tend to have fresh water and the water clarity in such lakes can be exceptional due to the lack of inflowing streams and sediment.

African Landscapes 16 - Shipwreck Bay, Tolanaro, Madagascar: It is called shipwreck bay because so many ships have crashed there that the beach is littered with parts and must occasionally be cleaned by the government.
African Landscapes 17 - Sun Sets at the Kilimanjaro-Kimana Game Sanctuary: Kilimanjaro Kimana is located at 1100 meters above sea level. This park is small and occupies an area of about 50 square kilometers.
